Re: Music documentaries/videos/concert topic
Yeah, she was always pop. The issue was more that Nashville songwriters have a ton of power in their industry, so when she stopped working with them to do songs by Linda Perry and Pink they probably started a backlash against her so other singers wouldn't start going to pop writers. But they kind of do because people like Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue ghost wrote some of the bro country stuff and the singer from Semisonic also wrote some country hits. Because 2010s country acts wanted to replace what was left of rock music for whitey.

The only live music I've wanted to see since Bad Religion has been killed.
Another festival dies. Deep Purple, Placebo, and The Dead Kennedys are out of Pandemonium... On the plus side, the festival still has Wheatus...
You won't save music festivals from a horrible death with fucking Wheatus!
Christ, about the only way to save live music at this point is Daft Punk to reform, Florian Schneider to come back from the dead and rejoin Kraftwerk and put them in a festival with Yello and the Chemical Brothers. If your festival lineup isn't literally at least that, every festival may go and fuck itself forever.
Live music is dead, unless you like Taylor Swift in a stadium, then you're good.

Music festivals are having problems in the US too. Like Coachella used to be an automatic sell out, but this year didn't do that great with No Doubt and Lana Del Rey headlining.

This looks like they sanitized the drugs and Charles Manson, though.

I believe there's a documentary which covers Manson & his interactions with Dennis & other musicians etc like Terry Melcher I forget the docs name, I watched it years ago. I believe he's talked about in the Dennis Wilson doc. He's not somebody they want to mention I guess & Dennis had the most interactions with him, they reworked one of Charlie Manson's songs, don't believe he got a songwriting credit though.

Brian met Manson once and told Dennis never to bring him around ever again.

Yea I've heard that too.
The Beach Boys song "Never Learn Not to Love" is solely credited to Dennis, apparently Charles Manson was given a motorbike & some money instead. From what I gather, he was very angry about his lyrics being changed, his song is called "Cease to Exist"
The Manson documentary I believe is called "Music From An Unsound Mind"

Man, 30 years. I remember the summer Come Out And Play came out. People went nuts when they heard it the first time. Then MTV was playing the video 75 times a day.
