So I watched the launch video.
Then turned off in disgust about 3 minutes in.

GTA 5 is the opener for the next generation of console gaming?

2 gens was a good thing, 3 in a row is just a little overkill.
And it’s not even a launch title?
They’ve had 7 years to make gta 5, and even half assing it onto a 3rd gen, it’s not even ready at launch

So what I get from that presentation is that the PS5 is equal to the PS3 and Xbox 360.

If that announcement was for a new gta game, they would have my money the second I saw it.

Why is the discless one called a digital edition?

As a co developer of optical discs, I am sure Sony knows that CDs, DVDs and Blu Rays are all digital media...

If it had a cassette tape I wouldn’t call it the digital edition, but it doesn’t.

Both are digital.

Oh god no

That is a misleading graphic. Look at the size of the Xbox controller. It looks way smaller than the PS5 controller, and it’s sitting in front of the console, which means it should look slightly bigger than the PS5 controller that’s sitting to the side. Not to mention this graphic assumes that all slot loading openings are the exact same size, which isn’t the case.

Because despite how nitpicky you are about semantics, most people universally accept that DVD’s and Blu-Ray’s are referred to as ‘physical’ and downloads as ‘digital’. But you already knew that, despite your disdain for it.
