2004 was the first year of the millennium when I really got into music. I was a pissy teenager that didn't like new music.

Hot Fuss, Franz Ferdinand's self-titled album, and Good News For People Who Love Bad News were big for me because I didn't know anyone who listened to that kind of stuff. Then torrents got big and Oink/Waffles exposed me to lots of music. Last.fm and college helped too.

The one thing that surprised me was Biggie was the only rapper on there that week. But "Dear Mama", " Keep Their Heads Ringin'" and "You're All I Need To Get By" were soon to be released a few weeks from then.

Pet Shop Boys' fifteenth studio album "Nonetheless" has entered the UK Official Albums Chart this week at number 2, the highest-charting PSB album since "Very" in 1993. And in the UK Vinyl Albums Chart “Nonetheless” is number one.

The album is also number 2 in Switzerland, number 3 in Germany and number 3 in Australia, their best album performance there since 1996. Additionally, it charted at number 5 in Belgium, number 16 in the Netherlands and number 24 in France.

I remember every one of those songs immediately. I couldn't tell you one thing that would be on their 2024 chart. Probably the new Linkin Park song and something by Foo Fighters, but that's just guessing.
