Re: The Jim Cornette Thread
This is how I explained it to a friend of mine the other day.
Wrestling was able to disguise itself as a sport because back in the day, people were (mostly) more innocent and WANTED to believe, and wrestling merely used that. With that being said there is so much that is misunderstood about kayfabe and preserving wrestling as 'real.' The whole kayfabe/sport thing did *not* come about because wrestlers everywhere were concerned about preserving their livelihood - kayfabe came about because a group of powerful promoters needed a tool to control their underlings and the boys, so they manufactured this aura of wrestling and 'kayfabe' in order to be that tool. Wrestling in 2019 no longer needs this 'tool' in order to be successful, so it can be appreciated as the artform that it is (and wrestling is absolutely an artform, I will defend this with anyone).
I don't know wtf that has to do with anything Cornette related, but there you go.

Re: The Jim Cornette Thread
Court Bauer made it sound like Cornette is done with MLW. So he's exclusively with NWA now.

Re: The Jim Cornette Thread
There's a bunch of wrestlers on there that Cornette has savaged on the podcast, not the best PR for MLW.
I can't get no...

Re: The Jim Cornette Thread
Is he really going to talk about unbelievable tag wrestling matches when he called two small 60 year olds beating two huge young guys for the tag belts in NWA two weeks ago?

Wonder what Corny thinks about his buddy JRs opinion of Marko
He was originally booked to be on AEW Dark with Joey
In the interview Marko did with CVV, Marko said he has scoliosis, which medically they advise folks with it to avoid any contact sports. So he's actually at more risk taking bumps.

There's one question: is it over with their crowd. So Marko and Rock & Roll Express are both fine.

I'll take Marko Stunt being short and busting his ass over big guys doing preplanned shit in the WWE.

Re: The Jim Cornette Thread
Cornette is AEW's biggest heel and he isn't even part of their show.
