Re: The Emulation Thread
They got off pretty lightly overall, even including that statement written by the Ninja Lawyer Hitmen Squad themselves... Deeply disappointed people leaked games and played them
You can't fool me Nintendo Lawyer!
I had no idea they were charging for it, as I have more interest in playing games than dicking around with settings these days. But not charging for unlicensed Nintendo products is pretty much the first rule of dealing with unlicensed Nintendo products.
Little Timmy once tried to sell his Pokemon cards in 2001 for $10. Unfortunately there was a fake Charmander in amongst the real cards... Little Timmy is STILL in the coma from the beating the Ninja Lawyer Hitmen Squad gave him to this day.

Re: The Emulation Thread
If this is true, emulation will be fine. Devs shouldn't ask for money and work hard to get day 1 releases out to their customers. Sounds like Yuzu got greedy.
I feel like emulators should exist for academic/preservation purposes first, us pirates will misuse the technology accordingly.

Emulation started in 1996 when my dad bought a CD-R full of SNES ROMs off of eBay.

Re: The Emulation Thread
It's certainly been awhile since our last Major Improvements video, in this new showcase we go over some of the more notable changes to RPCS3 over the last two years. However we cannot cover everything and many other notable features such as savestates, or a myriad of games that became playable were not shown. We hope that by showing the date each game improved we can re-assure our audience that despite no videos being released our developers have continued to deliver consistent updates to RPCS3.
This video was mainly delayed due to our video editor being busy, and stepping down from producing future videos. We hope to have new members of our community helping produce future videos without as much of a delay, however we cannot make any promises. Please follow the update changelog within RPCS3's updater, and/or our GitHub and Twitter pages for more frequent updates.
As always, ensure you check out our compatibility list https://rpcs3.net/compatibility to see if the game you want to play is listed as Playable, and click on the name of the game to be taken to our Wiki page where we list any required settings.

I have never heard of Zeebo either.
I'll give it a try eventually.

Re: The Emulation Thread
It sucks that these sites go down because the common person won't dig much deeper for ROMs. Most won't go into torrents or even full ROM sets. But I think the preservation side of things is okay for now. Would Vimm's or LoveROM have anything that other sites don't already have?
Nintendo was doing this 20 years ago, I wonder if they'll be doing this 20 years in the future? How could they litigate decomps and recomps?

Pardon me for focusing on the wrong thing.. but that is a clear yellow Dreamcast control with the PAL blue swirl.
Either they've taken a yellow NTSC control and put in the PAL VMU window (it's what I would do), or they have the single most rare and obscure piece of hardware to ever exist.
If not a custom job, that control is rarer than gold inlaid, diamond studded hens teeth propped up on a unicorn horn.
