Re: All Elite Wrestling Thread (It's Wednesday...you know what that means.)
Conflicting stories who instigated the "fight". Apparently The Elite confronted Punk and Steel stepped in to help his buddy. Ace threw a chair and blacked Nick's eye, Punk threw punches at Matt, Kenny got his hair pulled and bitten by Ace
this is hilarious af
Sounds more like slapstick comedy than a real fight. Bet the Elite on speed dial to the G.O.D. to bring in Haku to protect them from Ace and Punk
Seriously though, Tony needs to sit everyone down and say enough of the BS. It makes the Elite look bad when he didn't back them up either. Bobby Fish is now saying he wants a fight with Punk too

Bobby Fish would beat CM Punk even if he fought hog-tied.

This story has been updated at 8:15 PM Eastern.
Due to the ever-changing situation following the post-All Out backstage fight between CM Punk, Ace Steel, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, changes have been made to Wednesday's AEW Dynamite.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that two of those changes include former AEW World Champions Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley both appearing on Wednesday's Buffalo, New York, debut. Neither were originally scheduled to appear and it's unknown if they will be wrestling or simply doing promos.
Meltzer said there are suspensions stemming from the Sunday fight that was a result of Punk's post-All Out press conference comments where he called out "the EVPs" of AEW in addition to Hangman Page, Colt Cabana and MJF with inflammatory language.
Steel and Pat Buck will not be at Wednesday's Dynamite, but it's unconfirmed if they are officially suspended. Meltzer said he also believes the others involved in the fight will also not be brought to Buffalo.
As of now, there are only two officially announced matches in ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta defending against Daniel Garcia, and Best Friends & Orange Cassidy vs. Death Triangle. New no. 1 contender MJF will also talk following his surprise return Sunday.

Seems the Bucks were the instigators as they kicked the door down
They didn't leak the story to the sheets either, or so it's claimed about Punk wanting Colt out of AEW. So real weird situation, albeit hilarious when you think about it, with the melee which went on that sounds more like a BTE comedy skit.
Don't know whether everyone's suspended or whether Punk's walked, read a rumour Ace was fired but don't know how true it is. It's something where Tony should have sit everyone down and talked it through. He's smart enough to know about Shawn/Bret, Sid/Arn, Dynamite/Rougeau etc and you don't want any backstage fights or falling outs.
I won't be surprised once their deals are up or if they walk The Elite turn up in WWE. Be interesting to see if Hangman sits it out too since he was part of Punks diatribe. Tony should have knew with Punk this is part of his whole deal if he's pissed off he will act up. I won't be surprised if he just says enough and walks out on AEW altogether. Weird that he had heat with Matt as in BTE ages back before he joined they were trying to get him for All In.
Also Punk thinks The Elite were behind getting Cody out the picture so he's pissed about that too apparently. They have had heat when they were in TNA and with New Japan and ROH when they went to start up AEW. So is not a new thing there with them painting themselves out to be the innocent party. All are at fault surprised Kenny got involved the stuff with Ace biting him is just so hilarious. Shame Brandon didn't record it for BTE.

Suspensions, and possibly more, are imminent for those involved in Sunday's post-AEW All Out brawl following CM Punk's press conference.
Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso reported Wednesday morning that according to multiple sources, Punk and producer Ace Steel will either be suspended or let go by the end of Wednesday. He said Punk met with AEW head Tony Khan on Tuesday.
Additionally, Kenny Omega, Matt & Nick Jackson, Pat Buck, Chris Daniels, Michael Nakazawa and Brandon Cutler have been, or will be, suspended.
Barrasso reported that an external third-party investigation will be conducted to look at what happened.
Following his win over Jon Moxley Sunday to reclaim the AEW World title, Punk targeted Omega and the Jacksons (referring to them as "the EVPs") in addition to Hangman Page, MJF and Colt Cabana through several expletive-filled answers to questions.
After he was done, there was a fight backstage involving Punk, Steel, Omega and the Jacksons but it is still unknown who started it.
Page, who was the target of Punk via an unexpected promo line during the build to Punk's first match with Moxley, was not in the building during the incident. FTR, who are friends with Punk, were also not in the venue.
Dynamite is live from Buffalo tonight. Dave Meltzer reported Tuesday that AEW had to bring in Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley when they were previously unscheduled to be there.

I can't see this metamorphosing into an angle which could draw money at all and I think The Elite and Daniels positions in the company will be reassessed. Can't have EVPs fighting they should have went about this more diplomatically.
I'm be much surprised if Punk doesn't walk and Ace fired. Just such a weird series of events but Punk was festering and Tony shouldn't have brought him to the media scrum. Think he should nix them altogether now otherwise you could have more scenarios like this down the line.

If Punk's fired or walks out WWE should give him whatever he wants to go there. Give him the Mania main event, beat Roman for the belts. They'd be getting the equivalent of Bret leaving WWF for WCW but this time they could make it a huge story and I think a lot more lapsed fans would tune in to see CM Punk returning to WWE. If that occurs, AEW would have handed their top guy to WWE on a silver platter.

I don't see that. He hates Paul Levesque a ton. Maybe he would be so determined to stick it to AEW he would tolerate him, but I really can't see it. He is very high-strung as we have seen. I think he would do more acting or just retire from every thing. He's probably going to get his AEW money regardless.Big Boss Man wrote: Thu Sep 08, 2022 2:22 am If Punk's fired or walks out WWE should give him whatever he wants to go there. Or can Conrad afford him? I think he likes Conrad, if he was going to put money into his potential promotion he might listen to an offer.

I don't think AEW is done, but they're definitely WCW 2K22 right now. But WWF had a ton of turmoil in 1997 (not just Bret) and by spring 1998 were stronger than ever. Hopefully AEW treats this like a tough learning lesson and grows from it.
