Elvis still being alive somehow turned into one of the world's less batshit conspiracy theories.

Like in 1978-2000 you'd have to be one of the most unhinged, deranged lunatics to even consider it. Since 2001 though... You'd almost listen to someone saying Elvis is still alive because while they still might be a bit of a nut job, at least they aren't dangerous like some of the others.

My guess is that Trump talked to the CEO or someone on the golf course, that person revealed they are doing some limited time run of cane sugar Coke, and Trump wrecked their announcement with this tweet.

Cherry coke is about 300 times better with High Fructose corn syrup than Sugar, but a regular classic coke is just as good with either.

He's not wrong, each political party has an upper crust of people that actually fund everything. We spend billions of dollars on state and federal astroturf campaigns because they are trying to shape the country's policy to benefit them.

Democrats had a great run with Obama after everyone hated Bush and his merry band of neoconservative goons. But other than social policies (same-sex marriage, abortion), the Democrats stuck with neoliberalism and did little to reign in our financial institutions and other powerful industries. Meanwhile, the Republicans were successful with their guerrila campaign to brainwash rural voters and play up our worst tendencies (economic isolationism, xenophobia) to get their candidates elected.

The new Republican party ran over neoliberalism like a freight train. They won because they figured out how to coalesce with facism. Now all of these WASPs and other rich people like George Clooney are still shocked that poor people chose the angry racist party instead. These guys that Hunter calls out work hard against socialism or anything else left of neoliberalism. Unless average wages go up and spending is increased among low and middle-class families, we will never go back to a Clinton or Obama administration: Loose business regulations with token center-left social policies with no enforcement.
