This has been rumoured to be happening for a while. I don't mind Topps but it will be interesting to see what Panini do with the license.

People are worried the prices are going to jump up a lot like UFC boxes have when they switched to Panini.

Jayzus. Khabib is one of the all time greats, but NFL and MLB cards don't go for that much unless they're old. I really doubt a Tom Brady or Shohei Ohtani autograph goes for that. Maybe if you had a Brady autograph from 2001. But not a new one.

ETA a 2020 Brady autograph Panini is $150. An autographed helmet by him is $8,000. UFC is nuts.

Luka & Zion cards have gone for $500k plus. They are usually 1/1 cards.

Just checked, a Luka Panini National Treasures rookie Logoman card 1 of 1 went for $4.6m. A Patrick Mahomes 1 of 5 NT rookie patch card rated BGS 9 went for $861k.

A lot of the time they are being bought by investors who expect the prices to rise.

It's one of the reasons why box prices for NBA cards are so nuts, people wanting the Luka/Zion/Ja/Lamelo autos.

Ha, you can get a Chris Benoit autographed poster for $2,000. He wasn't alive for the cards.

$50 for a Benoit blanket. I might buy that.

It's mainly in the last 5 to 10 years when they've started to mass produce the auto cards. Sticker autos, which aren't worth as much, have made it easier for the card companies.

I remember getting 1 auto card in the 90s, and that was of an NBL player called Darryl McDonald, which I sold for $60 at a local card shop. The pack I got it from was $2, and I think that was the only NBL pack I bought. It was in a vending machine in a game store.

Cherry got 2021 Topps WWE Transcendent in, which is the thing that costs A$25k and was A$300 for one of 58 spots in the break.

Some very, very cool cards where in it. And there was also Nia Jax, Karrion Kross, Sonya Deville, Scarlett and others that probably aren't worth $300.

The signed belt was of Bobby Lashley.

I actually have a Lulu Pencil card (just base/non-auto) coming from Japan. Mei Suruga as well. They were fairly cheap.

Maki Itoh base cards aren't so cheap, so I'm waiting to find some bargains.

Shida and Sting are the only autos I'd like from the AEW set
