I'm nervous about Prime 4 because the trailer looks very similar to the original Prime and they released it before Disney Villians Cursed Café. Seems like this should be a big deal but they're treating it the same as a new Tomagotchi game.

Calling it now: Virtual game cards will be the only way Nintendo will allow Switch 1 games on the Switch 2.

It was kind of a shit Direct, but there were some good things. Gradius Origins with a new Salamander game, that Marvel game, Tomodachi Life, which was a terrible game to finish with, but was good on 3DS, and a few other things.

Nintendo Today was not one of the good things.

When I see Shiggy making an announcement, I expect something good.
Like a Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt, Super Mario Brothers, Star Fox, or Pikmin.
Not a good damn app!

At least the switch has its swansong now, Metroid prime 4 should be great, and if it sucks Rhythm heaven will be the swansong, although hard to see how they're gonna top Fever, that was like the second most fun game ever made on Wii.

I don't get virtual game cards... Just sign in your account with your digital games on another switch?
It's also not limited to 2 systems, I've had 3 over the years, and each one had my estore games...

I imagine Metroid will help the switch 1 get one last lot of Christmas sales before the system disappears.

I disagree on two of your points.

1. It is a big deal, because it got a reveal trailer at the end of the last Direct, which is where they put games that are a big deal. Then every follow-up Direct they usually throw new info somewhere in the middle to keep the Direct exciting. I mean, seriously, look where they put Pokemon in this Direct.

2. I liked this gameplay trailer a LOT more than the first one because it looked far less like an FPS this time. The reveal trailer made me nearly want to cancel my preorder. This one saved it. The original Metroid Prime was a lot of small rooms, where this one looked to be grander in scope. I’m hoping it’s more like God of War with big open areas with a bunch of branching paths.

I hope I was being overly negative, I'm really looking forward to this. The music and gameplay sounded and looked really good.

It seems to make more sense for a household with kids who might not be good at logging in and out. Honestly, the current system is a little confusing to me. I have family members with kids under 10 who each have their own Switch systems, so maybe virtual game cards work better for them?

If anyone wants to bring their digital purchases to the Switch 2, I think Nintendo will require some sort of buy-back program to convert digital purchases to virtual game cards. Nintendo has an issue on their hands with the Switch game duplicators on the market so I think they're trying to nip that in the bud for the new hardware.

Hey Nintendo, this isn't entirely your fault, but 4.2.2025 was nearly 2 months ago. Wheres my god damn direct?

Also, it'll be happening at 30 09 45.. of course that's the standard way of displaying time with the minutes first, then the hours, and then of course the seconds right after that...

Also, if global companies could start using months of the year instead of god damn seasons which vary wildly worldwide, that would be fantastic.

The switch 2, (and other global products) arriving in Summer isn't very fucking helpful now is it? Summer could mean anything from fucking June through to March depending on where and how you're talking about, now couldn't it? At least if you want to use dates, you could get the format correct.

Also, I'm still hoping for analogue triggers of some description. I imagine they'll want to release in around September so they can have a mad rush of sales, sell out and have plenty of time to make a shitload of more sales for a mad December rush of sales as well.

Mario Kart 9 is called Mario Kart World.

Mario Kart x Outrun x Forza Horizon
