My controversial opinion is to make piracy more accessible for anything created 20 years ago or older. I'm always afraid that one of the big multinational gaming corporations will hit big with a court case and wipe out ROM and ISO collections. That or a group will go out like Pleasuredome and pull the plug themselves.
Also, we lost Underground Gamer 10 years ago in June

My mind is still trapped back then. I can't imagine spending more than $20 for an NES cart. It was all seen as garbage on the shelves.

My parents would take us on the 4-hour car ride to the Mall of America right before school started. They had a Funcoland and those price sheets were printed on newsprint. They rarely had 25 percent of the games listed in stock, but I remember the staff was pretty knowledgeable and patient with kids. There were game systems set up in the store and they'd let you play test the games before buying.
I remember playing Ecco The Dolphin for a little bit and the guy asked if I needed something with more action. So that's when I picked out Contra: Hard Corps.
Good thing we had a Game Genie at home, I could barely finish the first level without it.

found a bunch more of my old gaming mags while sorting some stuff out, from back in the 16 bit days the cost for some fo the stuff was a bit, dont remember the exact stuff atm but some imports were over £100 on the SNES, the Neo Geo was obviously sky high & the SF2 SNES just said 'call for price' & people complain about stuff these days, they dont know they're born

An enhanced PC source port of the original WipeOut has been released

WipeOut Phantom Edition is an enhanced PC source port of the original WipeOut. It uses game data from the PlayStation version and is much more comparable to the PlayStation version than the official PC port.

Increased view distance: See further into the distance.

Wall collision response options:
- Modern: Comparable to BallisticNG.
- Classic: Comparable to WipeOut 2.

New music and sound effect system: Similar to PlayStation version.
3D audio for sound effects: Spatial audio sources and doppler effect.
Additional options menus: Configure most of the new features.

New config file system: Game configuration data and progress is stored in editable text files.
Automatic game data extraction: The game can automatically extract game data files from provided bin/cue disk image files.

I still have my C64GS & it was fun for what it was, bloody pricy games though
