He was one of the funniest writers of all time. Naked Gun was the first comedy that wasn't for kids that I liked and is still one of my favorite films, as is Airplane! and Ruthless People.

That is upsetting. Not only was his solo work hilarious, but his work with the Zuckers was even more hilarious.

Recently watched the Hot shots movies again with my brothers. As funny as ever. I'm about due to watch the Naked guns (and Police Squad) again, and flying high AKA airplane! is still one of the funniest movies ever made.
