YOU CAN'T KILL OFF ROBOTNIC, HE'S THE FUCKING BAD GUY OF SONIC! If Carrey doesn't want to do more, you recast the bad guy, not kill them.

Also the mid credits sting... Metal sonic and Amy... They can have more than 1 new protagonist per film, but I suppose the success of this will lead to another 16 movies and they can drip feed in one at a time.

I was so SO happy to hear the Traveling Wilburys and Robotnics dance to galvanize by the Chemical Brothers.
2 of my favourite songs of all time were just the icing on the cake of a great soundtrack.

I was also delighted to see Wade was in the movie, I hadn't seen him announced, and was saddened going in to think he was the star of Knuckles and wouldn't be in this at all, but his scene was a perfect call back.

The joke about looking like a pokemon was a great touch.
My son aptly pointed something out when we left the theater that could be used to solve that dilemma: Gerald Robotnik is the grandfather, but we never hear anything about who Eggman’s actual father is. This may be on purpose because if Jim won’t come back for Sonic 4, they could easily recast someone and have them be Eggman’s father. That would set up a Robotnik villain for several movies to come, and give them a pretty strong motive to kill Sonic (who basically had a hand in killing both his son and dad).

Hmm, yeah, I'm sure that would leave them a window to work around any casting issues. There's numerous ways they could as long as they don't go with "And Eggman survived" which would be a cop out. He's dead now, they wrote themselves into this corner and writing a way out could prove lazy or stupid.

It's been too long since I've played the games to remember exactly what happened, but Gerald getting killed made total sense, as that always happened albeit in a different setting, as I recall. As did Sonic and Ivo teaming up albeit temporarily, I recall that has also happened so it made sense as well.

I should probably brush up on the Sonic Adventure games again, but I just can't play the newer ones to know what to expect going forward in the story. I simply cannot play anything from Shadow to roughly Forces in the 3D games and rush to boom in the 2D games. I've tried and I just can't so there's probably a whole shitload I'm missing and from this point on I suspect I'll be getting a LOT less out of more movies. I do still want to see all the movies recut with the trainwreck eyes. They took a lot from us long time sonic fans when they changed the eyes.
God damn it, from 2002 till 2017 we'd gotten used to sonic being shit, and just as we were excited to see the absolute peak of trainwrecks they change it and make it something good! It's confusing seeing sonic being good again.

We had 15 odd years of trainwrecks, and the one time I actually wanted and expected it, they went and made it bloody good!

Bubba the Redneck Werewolf - 2014.

What an absolutely shit house movie! I LOVED IT!

Had a party and was looking for something to watch when we all got slightly too drunk to keep playing games.
We were looking for something BAADDDDD and various movies where the premise is a combination of an animal and person were all in contention. Glad we selected this.

My god was this movie so shit. Which made it funnier than it would have been.

The rare movie so bad it's good again.
0 out of 10. Do not watch. Amazing!

People love a train wreck. It can't be THAT bad can it?
Yeah Megalopolis is pretty bad because it's also so boring. But I did go to see it because I wanted to know how bad it was. Jon Voight steals a couple scenes but those few moments don't make up for the slow part.

The movie recasts New York City into New Rome and asks whether it can survive like old Rome. I hate this comparison because it's so overused. Then you meet the main three characters: Adam Driver as the architect, Giancarlo Esposito as the mayor, and Jon Voight as the banker. The architect has this new miracle material called megalon and wants to rebuild New Rome. Yadda yadda yadda, the three enter into a power struggle throughout the movie.
The ending is so trite. It boils down to "the architect (or artist) needs to supported by the government and banks to thrive.
It would be more interesting if Coppola took the piss and the whole thing was an incomprehensible mess. But instead, we got what we should've always assumed Megalopolis is. It's a half-baked, unfinished political opera created and financed by a man who should know better. It's not even the first time he's done this! I'm sure Megalopolis will have its fans and maybe could develop into a cult classic, but at least something like One from the Heart was more endearing.
I've now watched it.. It has to be the most boring movie I've ever made it through without turning it off or falling asleep.
And I even made it through in a single sitting without checking the time.

Even when things are happening (which isn't very often) nothing happens.

Some good performances and good visuals and good concepts and it all amounts to absolutely nothing somehow.
It certainly is a film cinema nerds will study for years to come. How so much money and time and talent can all combine to achieve absolutely nothing.

It didn't feel particularly long, but by the time it got to the end I would have forgotten the start if anything had happened at the start.

A masterclass in films existing. And I can't even hate it, but I may just forget I've seen it the next time I watch just any movie.

I watched A Minecraft Movie.
Eh....

Slightly better than the Mario movies (original and modern) and slightly better than Uwe Boll's House of the Dead in terms of video game movies. But not as good as any other video game movie ever made, and that includes all the terrible Mortal Kombat ones, and the terrible street fighter movie... Not total shit, but You'd be better off watching sonic or resident evil movies with your time.

The Minecraft movie was great. Not because I particularly like Minecraft, but because I’m a sucker for Jared Hess’ brand of comedy, and the Jack Black / Jason Momoa pairing was so unexpectedly good that I now need more movies with the two of them together.

Maybe my problem with it is I do particularly like Minecraft. Since Beta 1.2, it's been a phenomenal game.
Like a never ending Lego set without the catastrophic cost. And the movie is just so... Limited.

I can play for years and always come back to it without getting sick of it. Alternatively, I can not play it for years, and come back to it and enjoy it just as much as ever. (When Microsoft accounts don't fuck it up)

And see, my first time ever playing Minecraft was last spring when me and some friends started a server together. We got on Discord and they had to explain literally everything to me because that game is terrible without help. Like Survival mode is literally the worst game ever created when you go in 100% blind. There’s nothing telling you simple things that you literally need to survive more than a day in that game, and I think Mojang just assumes that everyone knows the basics already. Or maybe the game has always been that fucking difficult for beginners, in which case I don’t understand how anyone enjoyed playing it without living on GameFAQ to explain stuff.

So yeah, me going into the movie with no clue if lava can actually cook chicken or if a chicken jockey is a real thing in the game probably boosted my enjoyment because I didn’t get hung up on the details.

I originally watched the workprint copy with the wonky CGI. It was a hilarious movie, but only because of the incomplete imagery :olol:

Holy shit I didn't know that the Napolean Dynamite/Gentlemen Broncos guy directed it. I definitely need to watch this now.

I watched Happy Gilmore 2.
Not funny for 99.99% of the movie, but I can't say I was ever having a bad time. I can't complain about any given thing.

I enjoyed it, but I know I shouldn't have.
As a movie it's bad.
As a sequel, it's bad.
As a comedy it's bad.
But as a nostalgia fest and addendum to the original movie, it's perfect and I loved it.
Best Adam Sandler film since Big Daddy, even if I only laughed once and smiled a couple of times in the whole thing.

Seen far worse sequels though, I found it entertaining enough, not as good as the first but still better than a lot of stuff churned out in recent times

A quick one fellas, that latest War of the Worlds dont waste your time its dull, crap & most of the "action" takes place from the screen you see in the trailer. Sure you do get tripods but the aliens are hinting data not people & the solution is the Indepence Day version of virus beats alien, there just saved you 90 minutes that by the end I felt would have been better spent watching paint dry

I watched Fantastic Four. It was fun, I liked it, shame it's starting to lose traction in the box office.

I also watched 28 Years Later. I don't know if I'm alone on this by my god I found it boring. The last 5 minutes or so were a shift in tone.

It just didn't add much to the overall 28 world. Lots of zombie dong, though
