Re: The AFL Thread
So on Friday night I watched the most Football I'd seen since 2013.
I watched Sydney destroy Carlton, but something kept me watching and I watched basically the whole game from about 10 minutes in right till the end.
Anyway, until about 2 minutes left in the game and with Sydney like a million points up, they were just playing well.
And I mean playing well! as individuals they were crushing it, and as a team, they were playing so well with seemingly total effortlessness at short and long contests. I've never seen a team and individuals play like that before... I've seen teams with great forwards, and great rucks and great defence plays, and seen teams where everyone is useless so they get the ball to one key player who carries them, and seen teams who should be crap luck into winning goals/strategies/seasons but I've never seen a complete package of a team doing so much right before.
If they play like that all the time (and don't choke come the finals like they like to do) they could be premiers this year.
You could also pinpoint the exact moment Carlton gave up. With 12 minutes 43 seconds to go all their souls left their bodies
and in the last 3 minutes Sydney gave up too and just wasted time saving themselves the energy.
I've got my eye on you Sydney! even every team I've ever seen win a Grand Final weren't playing this well.
Even in games where a team is like 260 points up, I haven't seen a side play so well.
Now I'll probably go back to being bored by sportsball until I hear it's the finals series from a friend or family member.
GO sports team!

Re: The AFL Thread
So I was alerted to the existence of AFL a few minutes ago.
What the hell happened to Sydney? The got absolutely massacred by Port Adelaide.
That has to be the biggest downfall in AFL history.
In May I saw a team playing a perfect game, barely 3 months later and they're losing by more than 100. And it isn't even finals yet.
And Collingwood barely squeaked a win against Carlton.
Will be interesting to see what happens in 6 weeks from now. Geelong flag again from the looks of it.

Re: The AFL Thread
The Pies game was another heart attack inducing game. 32 points up in the last, Carlton fight back and could have won with a kick after the siren.
Legend Pendles gets a win in his 400th game!
The Swans have been out of form but losing like that is a shock. A 112 point loss might be the biggest loss ever for the team on top of the ladder.
Also Richmond are going to win the wooden spoon. Yay!
