He was a good dramatic and comedic actor but unfortunately had few projects to show his ability.

I watched the Charlie Sheen episode of Dark Side of the 2000s recently. I'd recommend watching that for lots of context.
Sobriety is hard, especially when you don't have convictions to keep you sober. We watched Wall Street the other weekend, he was great in that but yeah, the good roles stopped coming in the nineties.

Anything before two and a half men was good, and he was good in anger management somehow... that was the most boring show but he single handedly saved it for about 50 of the seemingly million episodes. It's easy to be funny when you've got good jokes to perform, but when you've got shit like his roles from two and a half men and you're STILL funny? well you're just a funny person.
But the highlight of his career is the Hot shots movies. First 1 and then the even funnier sequel, where he not only comically outperformed Lloyd Bridges, but was funnier than god damn Rowan Atkinson.
NO ONE is funnier than Rowan Atkinson. Not even John Lovitz or John Cleese in Rat Race were funnier than Rowan Atkinson, and they were fucking brilliant in that movie. I've never seen any other thing that Rowan Atkinson has ever been in that has someone else be funnier. And Sheen somehow did something no one else ever has.
If you look up winning in a dictionary, you see a picture of Charlie Sheen. He just has timing and mannerisms that made him brilliant. The drugs and alcohol certainly helped in the late 2000's though.

I looked it up, the dude's first marriage started in 1987.
I never had a reason to know anything about Ben Folds. Now I'm freaked out about how old the guy is.

The only other acceptable club would be the newly formed Tasmania Devils, who join the league in 2028. Up until recently, they were in negotiations with Warner Bros to use the Tassie Devils name, who were claiming it was copyright infringement, until WB found out that a Tasmanian devil is a real animal, then they were OK with them using the name.

Going for the old being ignorant of the real world to protect IP lawsuit. It usually works surprisingly well, I bet they're pissed off it hasn't worked this time.Bandit wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2024 1:51 am Wait, they didn't know that was a real animal until recently?
They likely gave up easy because who cares what happens in even real Australia? let alone detached tiny fake Australia.

Devils chairman Grant O'Brien said it became clear during negotiations that executives from the company did not realise the character was based on the Apple Isle's famous carnivorous marsupial.
'I think there was, for a period of time, a lack of understanding that there was actually an animal called the Tasmanian devil. Once that was understood, things got a little easier,' O'Brien said.
'But anything to do with copyrights, trademarks, those sorts of things … is tricky.
'But we got great co-operation from Warner Bros, and it's a name we wanted to fight for, because it's ours, it's the sort of animal character that we want our club to stand for.
'It was worth fighting for.'
The Warner Bros version of the Tasmanian Devil was invented by animation director Robert McKimson, who was running out of animals to base characters on.
'The animators at Warner Brothers found that they had used the last animal known to man as character fodder', his son Bob McKimson Junior told the Tampa Bay Times.
'My dad, who was into crosswords at the time, came upon the name 'Tasmanian devil' while working on a puzzle.
'At first, no one knew what it looked like, so Dad had to look it up in the dictionary and develop his look from that.'
McKimson said his father's original design was closer to the actual animal than the version well known around the world today.
'They have sort of bastardized the image of the Tasmanian Devil, as my father originally drew it,' he said.
'I just really don't like the way that the show's animators have modified his look.'
