Watched Joker Folie A Deux last night, my overwhelming advice to you guys if you aint seen it yet, DONT! its utter shite. The trailers made it look like theres a nice Joker rampage or at least some chaos & there isnt, what you get instead is Joker in court & a friggin musical, its as if they wanted to kill off all interest in the character so they could reboot him in the next wave of films (probably not far off the truth) save yourself the 2h 18m it takes to watch it & instead if you want this Joker just rewatchy the first film or go back to Burton Batman hell go back to Adam West era that Joker was camp but at least it was fun

¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor!

It's hard to review a documentary, but I knew going in I was going to like it.

I was aware of most of the facts in the movie about Trey Parker and Matt Stone buying it after it went bankrupt, I was not aware of just how much work they had to do and the astronomical costs involved in getting it reopen.

Insane, and a great watch.

Would watch more, and it helps fill the hole that I've only seen one episode of South Park this year (the special End of Obesity) The least I've ever seen since 1998.

I can understand why it's been a bit light between the restaurant, and the live show a while back as well as making the specials and the usual seasons, they're probably burnt out and need a break.

This looks so bad. I'm going to have to attempt to watch this when it hits streaming.

I'll give Megalopolis credit for being memorable. :olol: I've thought about it a lot over the last few months. It's like an AI-generated film specifically for Gen Z and millennial weirdos on Twitter and Letterboxd.

Watched The Killers Game last night, didnt know much about it but Batista stars in it so I was pretty sure thered be action & I wasnt wrong as he plays a hitman & due to some cock ups ends up having to fight off a lot of other hitters. Adding to the fun was the fact that Drew McIntyre is also in it as part of a 2 man team & despite speaking in English they put subtitles on them which is made even better by the fact the subtitles dont always match what they are saying. Overall its a fine way to spend 1h 44m (bit less if you skip the credits, theres nothing hidden in them) & I reckon pretty much everyone here should enjoy it

I can't wait to rewatch it. Just an absolute classic, from beginning to end. It's hard to pick a favorite part, but Owen always gets me because my brother is a dead ringer.

It's nostalgic now, too, after having watched it every year for the past 25 years.

It's timeless when a lot of movies from prior to the 2000s feel so dated and unrelatable because no matter what holiday travel will always suck.

For me, the filming locations always felt authentic. The Braidwood Inn in Wichita is a real hotel in Illinois and the area still looks practically identical to the movie. It's nostalgic to see all of the crappy Midwest landscape in November, with the half-melted snow in the gutters and shades of brown and beige. :olol:

Watched Megalopolis last night, thats over 2 hours 15 minutes (aprox due to credits) I will never get back. The whole things a kind of modern day Shakespearean tale of Rome but I'd rathjer have spent the time sitting through a Shakespear play than this drivel its so slow & barely anthing really happens, if you have insomnia this may help cure it but I cant recoment it beyond that, hell think I'd rather have seen Joker 2 again & thats really saying something

I watched the last Terminator movie tonight.
40 years since the franchise started, I figured it was time to end it.

And Dark Fate does indeed feel like the end.

This movie is all over the place and I have no idea what the hell they were going for. A reboot? Remake? Sequel? It kinda feels like it's aiming for all of them. It does a good job for the most part, but the franchise has a lot of reboots and pointless sequels already.

I REALLY didn't like that the film opens by pretty much saying everything you've seen was entirely a waste of time, before leaving the interesting part immediately to introduce a bunch of random bullshit... But the Mexicans naming their dog Taco was simply a beautiful addition! Whoever wrote that needs a pay raise...

Following a bunch of exposition that I really didn't give a shit about considering what just happened, I found myself wondering when the movie will go from being a reboot of robots from the future sent back to kill/protect Señorita Burro sí Bueno back to the classic characters everyone is watching this movie to see.
Again, They named the dog taco...

But then there's Linda Hamilton. What a performance!
Sarah Connor single handledly turned this rather generic feeling action film that feels confused about what it wants to be into a terminator movie.

This is where it feels like the end. The terminator is Sarah Connors survival and story. And without seeing the further exploits of her, this would be like all the other movies they've been trying to make since T2.

If it wasn't for Hamilton, this movie might not have even been as good as Salvation... Still, it's nice to have a little more expansion to Judgement day, just have to ignore the parts I don't like.

If there's a directors cut that simply makes the opening scene a flashback after we've met future Sarah, that would be great.

Still, we always have Judgement day, and they can never take that from us!

Hey so I saw the new Lord of the Rings anime film Saturday and it was pretty damn ok. It was pretty formulaic and the animation is kinda sketch in places but the voice work is on point and it *felt* like we were back in Tolken's world. There is a TENTACLED VAGINA MONSTER that steals the whole show and it isn't even in the film for three minutes.

Watched Kraven last night & can only say they've killed the extended spiderverse due to the Mordbius & Madame Webb only to end with the strongest of the lot (outside Venom) gotta say I wasnt expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, sure he may not be the best known character for many but the film just works. If you want your extended spiderverse viewing to end on a high note, or just wash away the bitter taste of the flops, give it a watch, sure its no masterpiece but hey its a comic book movie if you want high drama look somewhere else

Keeping up at the forefront of modern films I watched Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

I liked it. It was a much better film than Crystal Skull, I didn't hate crystal skull, but I didn't really like it either.

But because I wasn't expecting much from the reviews of this, I was pleasantly surprised that I had a lot of fun despite the tropes and predictable outcomes and the people saying it's a bad movie.

Sure the whole time I was wondering why the bad guy was the best part of the terrible bond film Casino Royale... But aside from a bond villain now being an Indy villain, this was just a bit of silly fun.

Will have no issues re-watching it again sometime when I see the old movies again.

Usually I'm between 30 months and 30 years behind the times, but today I'm only 3 days late.

Saw Sonic 3. It's better than 2 was. Sort of less all over the place and more action really helped with the pacing of the whole thing.

A great kids movie with a few nods to the older crowd in there.

There's a few bits that were a bit on the nose, but mostly just a fun picture, and a good adaptation of sonic, and it felt like the runtime was a good 15 minutes less than 2 which certainly helped it. Not giving the movie a chance to waffle off with various weddings and people I don't give a shit about, just back into the action really pays off.

This was the most people I've seen in a cinema since Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith roughly 2 decades ago. The cinema was about 2 3rds full which was simply packed. Even other new releases I've seen week or even night one have had much less people than this. Lots more middle aged people and less teenagers and kids than I imagined, but I suppose the one group of teens would have grown up after sonic 06 and shadow when the games started getting playable again, and the kids weren't even alive in that 15 year gap from 2001 where all the games were terrible (aside from Advance 1-3, calm down).. and a lot of the older crowd would have been 10-20 when the first games came out.

I didn't buy a commemorative cup at the start because it was $20 but at the end I discovered it actually lights up but they'd sold them all. Oh well, I don't need more crap anyway.

Spoilers ahead: My biggest critique is that they killed off Robotnic, but not before making him good... WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? YOU CAN'T KILL OFF ROBOTNIC, HE'S THE FUCKING BAD GUY OF SONIC! If Carrey doesn't want to do more, you recast the bad guy, not kill them.

Also the mid credits sting... Metal sonic and Amy... They can have more than 1 new protagonist per film, but I suppose the success of this will lead to another 16 movies and they can drip feed in one at a time.

I was so SO happy to hear the Traveling Wilburys and Robotnics dance to galvanize by the Chemical Brothers.
2 of my favourite songs of all time were just the icing on the cake of a great soundtrack.

I was also delighted to see Wade was in the movie, I hadn't seen him announced, and was saddened going in to think he was the star of Knuckles and wouldn't be in this at all, but his scene was a perfect call back.

The joke about looking like a pokemon was a great touch. Who knew Sega would be the ones to make the best video game movies... Honestly I didn't see it coming, but they're 3 from 3 now, and the trailer for Minecraft at the start looked as terrible as the super Mario Bros movie was.

Money well spend on the ticket!
