I read alligators have gotten into people's houses. So that will be another lovely thing to come home to as well as the damage.

According to my phone it was 41C (105.8F) today. Fuck that! It's not the hottest it's been, but it still sucks

38c for us.

Lots of lightening and thunder for the past few hours. The dog is hiding.

God damn Queensland weather!

It didn't get that hot at my house, got to 39 today for me (according to the car when I got back from the supermarket), but didn't feel as hot as yesterdays 38, so I suspect the car was full of shit!

I left work at 5:30pm yesterday and my car is under cover. It said 43C, I believed it :olol:

ian wrote: Tue Jun 20, 2023 2:22 pm Winter has hit Melbourne! I've gone from a light t-shirt, light shorts and bare feet in the house to a long sleeve shirt, my worn out thin as a tissue track pants, and socks!

it's 11°C at 2PM.

I am officially old because I used to live in thongs, a shirt and shorts at any temperature above 4 and only considered less than 4 a bit nippy.

Looking forward to going up the mountains this year, though. Gonna try and get some new boots, gloves and a jacket tomorrow.

Winter hit a week or so ago with an Arctic blast of cold.
Today I'm calling it, Winter is here! This morning my cars window was frozen over so I had to wait for the heater to melt it.

Last year I did go up the mountains and it's occurred to me why Melbourne winters are so shit. You get the bone chilling freezing, but never the god damn snow to play in or look at. :angryevil:

Up the mountains it's just as cold, but everything looks beautiful, people are happy (because they're on holiday or making a shit tonne of money OFF the people on holiday) and all around it isn't as bad.

Back to the mountains for me this year, even if I'll just be in a lodge drinking coke and coffee all day everyday looking out at the wonder.

Just once I'd like 8 foot of snow in Melbourne so I have an excuse not to leave the house!
Winter is here early. It's fucking freezing. It was 4 Saturday night, 1 last night and 3 tonight. Celcius of course.

Actually dug the winter clothes out on Saturday. I just used the Jacket and beanie, but last night used the pants, jacket, beanie and socks...
If it gets any colder I'm gonna need the gloves, balaclava and boots as well (which are all in the same suitcase)

In the full kit, it could get to minus 20 and I could be in nothing but underwear and sitting still and not get cold.

I'm planning on a day trip to the mountains this year, but might go for a weekend somewhere cold with a spa if I can find somewhere priced Ok.

Go winter!

I'm in a nice position I was able to go back to bed and sleep today.

I wasn't looking forward to going out untill it was at least double digits.

If this picture is real that's amazing. They should be doing the rounds on morning shows to talk about it.
