Re: The Junk Food/Fast Food Thread
I've just decided I want a trifle.
Can't even remember the last time I had one. there needs to be a place where I can get one at 3 am without having to go get practically every ingredient...

I'd fuck myself up with these and a Shamrock Shake. Sort of a "Tribute to the Commonwealth Meal," right?

Re: The Junk Food/Fast Food Thread
Allens has apparently discontinued Teeth.
I have no strong feelings one way or another about teeth themselves as a lolly, and think meh. But if they've ditched them on their own, that probably means that the retro party mix bags will no longer have teeth.
A retro party mix needs teeth. It's part of the country. It's a part of all our childhoods. It's something that links us to people long gone and a life we no longer have.
When I think about being a small child and my nana spoiling me and getting lollies when parents said no and fitting my real teeth with the fake ones to see my grandmother smile at me and fit her teeth with fake teeth and smile back...
That kind of thing and part of Australia seems to be vanishing before our very eyes.
If teeth are gone forever like fantales, and rock minties, it will be actually quite sad.
If they're still going to be in the retro party mix bags, I don't see any problem.

Were they good? When you say a lolly, could you describe the texture? These look like they have the consistency of taffy or maybe circus peanuts? Or maybe some sort of gummy candy?
Sidebar: I learn a lot of about Australian culture on here. And when I share those facts in conversation with people in rural US, they are especially baffled to hear I learned this on a video game/wrestling/AI shitposting forum. I can't describe the look of shock/confusion on their face in text alone.

The only "good" Domino's is a straightforward pepperoni pizza with maybe some veggies like peppers or olives.

Very average. Soft and chewy. Kind of like a stale marshmallow, but more solid.pixel wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 8:29 am Were they good? When you say a lolly, could you describe the texture? These look like they have the consistency of taffy or maybe circus peanuts? Or maybe some sort of gummy candy?
Dominos pepperoni and meatlovers are OK, but are only worth getting if they have a deep discount and you lack the money to get something better.pixel wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 8:31 am The only "good" Domino's is a straightforward pepperoni pizza with maybe some veggies like peppers or olives.

Zoidberg hit the nail on the head for his texture description...pixel wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 8:29 am Were they good? When you say a lolly, could you describe the texture? These look like they have the consistency of taffy or maybe circus peanuts? Or maybe some sort of gummy candy

they're just like a stale marshmallow to eat. But they don't sort of melt like a marshmallow does. They're quite solid.
Still chewy, but not gummy.
Glad we can share what little culture we have left. Most of our culture has been sold or ingrained to America and England and the culture we do have left is horribly expensive meaning it's at risk of being sold... To someone from America or China who has money. :olol:

I don't think I've ever been to a Bunnings that wasn't packed, no matter the day of the week

The Mornington Bunnings on a Monday or Tuesday night can be fairly empty.

We definitely don't have food stands inside our hardware stores. They just have food trucks outside.
