Damn, UK.One man who was convicted of gross indecency in 1974, said he would not accept a pardon and wanted an apology.
"To accept a pardon means you accept that you were guilty. I was not guilty of anything. I was only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time," George Montague told BBC TV.
Others also feel "Turing's Law" is not sufficient enough to right the wrongs committed against gay and bisexual men and believe another bill, one from Parliament member John Nicholson, would do more to accomplish this.
So the UK had people in jail for being Gay still.

The title makes it sound like they had people in jail for being gay recently, but I think they stopped that kind of thing in the 70s. It's still shitty that it happened back then.

But they weren't released when it stopped being illegal.Dr. Zoidberg wrote:The title makes it sound like they had people in jail for being gay recently, but I think they stopped that kind of thing in the 70s. It's still shitty that it happened back then.

They were jailed for 2 years and then released, that stopped when homosexuality became legal. They still had the criminal charge listed on their record though, which is what this is about. All charges have been wiped.

Dude, he isn't in jail anymore. He got out in 1977. He's married and 93 now.
