So I think this is a fair question. Will the shit (lol see what I did there) with Vince help or hurt AEW indirectly?

It depends, you have different scenarios.
Clearly they brought Dwayne Johnson in to be a figurehead and make people forget about Vince. If Vince goes away relatively quietly they can talk up the new ownership and pin this all on Vince who would no longer be involved and promise they will have protection in place where it can never happen again. Here things would stay the same.
If it gets really nasty it could bring Paul Levesque down if they can prove he did any covering up or otherwise knew as it was going on. If Levesque is out then who is your booker? Do you throw more money at Paul Heyman to book? Would Heyman even want to do it when he's already well paid just to manage Bloodline with no stress? Does TKO know anything about wrestling booking? Would WWE turn into 90s WCW where Time Warner hires people who aren't good because they don't know any better? Here AEW would greatly benefit by looking more competent because even if everything isn't great at least the owner knows about pro wrestling. That could take AEW back to 2021 where Vince was putting out an awful product and some fans jumped for a while.

Swerve vs Hangman III was one of the best matches in AEW history. I think better than the other two.

That main event is gonna be absolute fire.
Toni Storm as a psychotic delusional lesbian is a gimmick I can get behind.

AEW needs some main eventers right now, so Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay are two great signings. Okada is buddies with The Bucks, so I thought he'd end up in AEW.

Life went by slower then. It felt like a lot longer from the Nitro debut to the Russo era than it was the Dynamite debut to now.

Yeah. The only memorable thing about the show was the story Hulk Hogan heard a bunch of Turner network executives were going to be there since it was in New York so set himself up to get a big pop in his short match with Flair so they'd think he was still the level of star he used to be.

There is one person responsible for this cooling off, and his name is Tony Khan.
