In a DF Direct Starfield special, Rich, John and Oliver share their impressions of the game, answer a ton of supporter questions and offer up some impressions on the PC version. And we also attempt to tackle the biggest question of them all: is a 60fps performance mode possible on Xbox Series X? To answer that, we use the actual Xbox Series X CPU via the AMD 4800S Desktop Kit, paired with a GPU that's a close match for the PS5's. From there, we unlocked frame-rate and examine the characteristics of Starfield and what options are open to the developer.

Starfield launched in a baffling state on PC, with no support for DLSS, frame generation and highly questionable performance on Nvidia graphics hardware. A new patch is currently in beta and it's fair to say that it's transformative. The new HDR features disappoint, but with official DLSS and frame-gen support and genuinely impressive boosts to CPU and GPU performance, this patch moves Starfield one step closer to delivering everything it should on PC.

It came out 6 months ago on Xbox and Steam to above average but mixed reviews.

The game takes about 5 or 6 hours to get into and then it starts getting decent. It's just not as good as Fallout or TES.

Apparently it did come out. One of my friends is a huge Bethesda fan (for some reason) and he said this game is the first they've ever made that he found boring, so I'm taking his word.

People who enjoy playing Bethesda games suffer enough without the games being boring as well, so it must be really, REALLY bad.

Not to be confused with the similarly titled Star Citizen from Chris Roberts (Wing commander, starlancer and freelancer) that shit is never getting finished.
We'll have Half life 3, 4 and 5 before Star Citizen is finished.

My friend not liking a Bethesda game would be like me not liking a rockstar north game... They fucked up royal if I won't buy a rockstar north game lol.

Hey that's not fair, he just needs a few more million dollars to get everything working.

It's an easy thing to do. What with the similar premises, and citizen has been in development for so long it gave another studio a chance to beat them.

In the time it's taken to make Star Citizen, they could have fully developed Duke Nukem forever, TWICE! That fun fact isn't true yet, but it will be one day. :olol:

It's taken at least 14 years so far. (Only 12 since the Kickstarter though)

From the first Wing Commander game in 1990 to Freelancer in 2003 was a shorter span of time, and there were a lot of Wing commander games...

But it's the age old gamers dilemma. Would you rather be playing a shit game that's already out, or waiting forever for a good game?
