There's an interesting story where Jeff talks about how he had to clean up the audio (from an old cassette tape I believe) for "Free as a Bird" & the effort he put into it. Technology wasn't as advanced then so I believe he basically done it very step by step (instead now when they'd just put it thru a multitude of filters/mastering plug-ins) so I think he'd do even better this time around. He's very influenced by The Beatles (& Roy Orbison too of course). Plus Jeff was friends with, a fellow Wilbury with & produced George's "Cloud Nine" album (from memory he worked with & produced Paul too) so I think he's more than capable of producing any record, especially those by The Beatles since he's such a student of theirs.I like the newer sound and think it would've suffered with a ham-handed producer like Jeff Lynne.

That's correct. Jeff couldn't remove John's piano from their Analog studio equipment on a cassette tape Yoko gave them. George said he hated how it sounded and told Paul he refused to do the song, which made Paul mad and Anthology 3 didn't have a "new" song like Free As A Bird and Real Love on the other two.

I do wish we could get some kind og Lynne-McCartney collaboration, I miss that Wilbury sound. Or at the very least, get a remastered Free as a Bird using the new tech.Big Boss Man wrote: Mon Nov 06, 2023 3:43 amThere's an interesting story where Jeff talks about how he had to clean up the audio (from an old cassette tape I believe) for "Free as a Bird" & the effort he put into it. Love Me Do (2023 Mix) sounds great too.

I can confirm it's not on the music site or either of the Usenet trackers I use.

There's a Bass Pro Shop about 45 minutes away, I'd consider leaking it onto the Internet myself.
$30 for a 7-CD set is pretty damn good, and I like Garth Brooks.

I turned it on and wasn't playing attention. "That Night In Hawaii When I Turned Into A Panther And Started Making These Low Register Purring Tones That I Couldn't Control ... Sh¥t Was Wild" came on and for a second I thought I had turned on the Super Metroid soundtrack. Sounds a lot like the Norfair theme

I thought the same thing. I'm not a Garth Brooks fan but I've never been the first to upload something before.pixel wrote: Sat Nov 18, 2023 8:28 am There's a Bass Pro Shop about 45 minutes away, I'd consider leaking it onto the Internet myself.$30 for a 7-CD set is pretty damn good, and I like Garth Brooks.
