It’s amazing how little the US cares about soccer. That city will probably be shut down for 2 days while people celebrate, but if the US won we’d probably be like ‘oh that’s cool’ and forget about it.

Australia would go crazy if we won the WC, which we never will. Not because we care about soccer, it would be because we won a big event.

The biggest deal of a national victory I remember was the 1992 Olympic Dream Team with Jordan, Bird, Magic, Ewing, Malone, Pippen, Barkley, etc. But people didn't celebrate on the streets, they just got a parade for an hour when they came back to the US. They sold a lot of t-shirts, though. I guess America just celebrates by buying memorabilia.
