Who has the craziest most powerful PC? Post your specs

Post by Calavera »

Was just wondering if anybody here has went all out and has an insane top of the line system? Anybody here have an RTX 2080ti? Or a Core i9 9900KS? Who here have the most powerful PC? I'm surprised there wasn't already a post your specs type thread here. I'll post mine even though most probably already know from my upgrade thread.

Ryzen 5 3600X
Nvidia GTX 1660 Super
16GB DDR4 3200
MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI motherboard

A decent system but nothing crazy. I'd like to think I'd come in at least the top 10. Given the amount of active users we have it is likely to happen! :olol:

i5 750 and GTX 960. A bit aged, but most games still run acceptably.

The GTX 960 seems like a pretty decent card

The i5 750 seems to be good enough to not bottleneck the card. Isn't it crazy how nowadays a 10+ year old CPU can still be decent enough for gaming? I remember in the old days when after a year maybe 2 your system was way outdated and could barely play new games on the lowest settings! I'm guessing the best CPU your board can support is the i7 975? So if you ever want a bit of a CPU upgrade you can throw one of those in for only $40.

I'm gonna be down lower
Got rid of the 1800X, vega 64, 4K monitor, 32GB RAM and went back to old faithful for the bulletproof stability:

Antec Sonata 1 Case
Corsair HX 850 PSU
Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7 mobo
Intel 4790K CPU (stock cooler and speeds ATM)
Gskill 16GB of Ripjaws X DDR3 2400MHz RAM
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 WINDFORCE OC 8G GPU
Samsung 950 Pro 256GB SSD
2 5TB WD blue HDD's
LG BH12LS35 Blu Ray burner
ASUS PB278Q Monitor (The older 2560x1440 one)
Hisense R6 (2019) 43" 4K TV
Logitech G810 KB
Logitech G700S mouse
Logitech Z623 speakers
Razer Goliathus Speed Extended mouse pad.

When I got the CPU/mobo/RAM in 2014, I was planning to keep it for 5 years. but it's been beautiful the whole time, so barring some sort of critical failure, I'll probably be keeping it for another 4 at least.

I am due for a new keyboard soon, but will probably go back to a GEN 1 Logitech G15, and have a Spare Logitech G500S in case my G700S dies. (Todays Logitech products just don't have the build quality they used to, and the G500S/700S are the last of the good mice)

Next upgrade is Putting a chunky Thermalright cooler on the CPU and fitting the Sonata with a couple of good noctua fans.

Mine is a couple years old, was planning on doing a new build this year

i5-7600K slight OC running at 4.4GHz
Gigabyte Z260M-D3H motherboard
16GB of some brand RAM (maybe Gskill)
Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming
Bunch of HDDs and SSDs. Something like a 240GB Samsung for Windows, 2TB mechanical, 3TB mechanical, 500GB SSD, 1TB SSD
dual 1080p 24" monitors because I'm a pleb

Apparently CPU prices are dropping something fierce right now, so I may do a new build sooner rather than later.

Might be a good time, the AM4 platform is mature enough now that pretty much all the kinks have been ironed out, and the prices are amazing for the performance.

Your CPU would actually be trading blows with mine in the real world. While yours would have the advantage of higher memory Bandwidth, the 4790K has the clock speed and thread advantage.
I thought because mine was old, I'd have a shitty computer by todays standards.
But then I remembered I got an i7, while most people do go for an i5.

I'm actually gonna check them out... :olol: side by side, I know 3rd gen i5's were smashing first gen i7's, but much later on the gap wasn't as big between 4th and 5th, 6th, 7th or even 8th
I didn't even bother upgrading to 6th gen because it was an entirely new platform and $1000 for a 4% increase.

That one uses the 1366 socket, mine's 1156. I don't suppose they're compatible. Now, I could upgrade to any Xeon X34xx. I was tempted to get an X3470, but I don't know if it's worth the hassle.

Xeon E5-1650 0 CPU (6 core/12 threads 3.2Ghz/3.8Ghz boost)
GTX 1650 Super 4GB
16GB DDR3 RAM
Some SSDs

An OK 1080p system. I might make a small factor Ryzen PC and stick the 1650 Super into that.

I also have an Acer Aspire F15, it's a low end gaming laptop from 2017 that I got cheap. It runs Cities Skylines well, which is what I mainly wanted it for.

15-7200U CPU
Geforce 940MX 2GB
32GB DDR4 2133Mhz
1TB M.2 SSD
2TB SSHD

Up until I replaced it with a raspberry pi my arcade machine was being run by the following:

Athlon 3800+ @ 2.4 GHz
2GB RAM
nvidia 7600GS

It's still sitting in my arcade, just not connected to anything. I honestly don't really know what to do with it. :olol:

Slap those high-end 2006 components in the worst Lian Li case that you can find second hand!

Too bad Code-Red isn’t still around so we could hear about some i9 with dual 1080 TI in SLI hooked up to 5 monitors, and that’s just one of the computers.

:ocry: oh how I miss the hardware discussions with him.
Even at the time of his last post, his PC was pretty kick ass (1700x and a 1080ti), but I am sure today He’d be on AMD, probably with a 3950x or 3900x and a titan or 2.
