Offering a new generation of old-school action, independent video game studio WayForward is ecstatic to lift the curtain on its upcoming co-op beat-’em-up, River City Girls. Developed by WayForward and overseen by the fighting-game experts at Arc System Works, this latest entry in the long-running River City (also known as Kunio-Kun) franchise is scheduled to hit Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this September.
River City Girls stars Kyoko and Misako, two street-tough high-schoolers who must fight their way through the six regions of River City to rescue their kidnapped boyfriends, series mainstays Kunio and Riki. Along the way, they’ll utilize an arsenal of combos, counters, throws, and special attacks; battle an assortment of enemies; accept numerous side quests; level up with experience points; interact with NPCs (including guest stars from past River City games); and shop for a variety of items, food, and gear to boost stats and unlock new abilities. The girls can even wield weapons and recruit defeated foes to join them in combat!
The one- or local two-player bare-knuckle brawling is complemented by spectacular 16-bit-style graphics and an epic synth-pop soundtrack (featuring NateWantsToBattle, Chipzel, Christina Vee, and Megan McDuffee!), while the story roars to life via glorious anime cutscenes and manga-style intermissions.
Rated E10+ by the ESRB, River City Girls will be available digitally via the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, Xbox Live, Steam, GOG, and Humble Bundle at the price of $29.99, while a physical version will also be available from Limited Run Games (price and release date TBD).

New Aleste game “Aleste Branch” announced, being developed by M2

Those that are a big fans of shmups and SEGA consoles, you might be familiar with the Aleste series by Compile, such as with the Master System version of Aleste or MUSHA on the SEGA Genesis. Well good news, because the developers at M2 are planning on reviving the series, under the title Aleste Branch. Not much has been revealed, but what is confirmed is that similar to past games, you’ll be controlling a female pilot named Eleanor Wiesen, and a teaser of what the game’s space ship will look like. According to Famitsu, the character designs are being handled by artist Eiji Komato.
Though not much information has been revealed, it’s promised that more information will be revealed by September 7th, while the appearance of the full ship will be revealed on July 28th at Wonder Festival 2019.

Sega trademarks ‘Nights Dream Wheel’ in Japan
Possible new NiGHTS title on the way?

Sega Games has filed a trademark for “Nights Dream Wheel” in Japan.
The trademark sounds like it could be related to Sega’s NiGHTS series. The original NiGHTS into Dreams launched for Sega Saturn in July 1996, followed by PlayStation 2 in February 2008, and PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in October 2012. A sequel titled NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams launched for Wii in December 2007.
At this time, a new entry in the NiGHTS series is not known to be in development.

Maybe they'll pull an old Konami switch-a-roo and make a Nights pachinko machine?

They're overhyping what it does but it does work alright with some systems. It's a cheaper version of things like the OSSC.
I might get one to use with the PS3 and 360.

Re: General Gaming Thread
I ordered one. I figured it would help with the 360 games that didn’t get BC on One, plus it would help with some Switch games too. And since I have a Wii HDMI adapter, I could use it on those Wii/GameCube games that don’t work on Dolphin.
