The lowest temps on that map are about -55°C or somewhere near the lowest (non-wind chill) averages seen in Antarctica

It’s not getting that cold here, but it’s pretty close. My favorite part is that the day before that, it’s suppossd to be in the 40’s (5c). Next day -14 (-25c) with wind chill of -35 (-37c).

Then I guess I'd be a pussy if I complain Wednesday on our windchill only being -6. That's practically tropical weather compared to the midwest.

Amazing thunderstorm tonight.
My house was surrounded by lightning for about 10 minutes. I seriously could look in any direction and would see flashes right before my eyes within 5 seconds. Never been surrounded like that before, was like a strobe light.

It got down to -60°F (-51.1°C) wind chill near here on Wednesday morning:
