Reckless Kelly are also a country rock band, so it's probably them seeing how on the other side it said Uncle Kracker was playing there.

There are still video rental stores in my area. It is a chain called Family Video. Apparently many of them have a pizza place next door and when you get a pizza delivered they will also deliver you whatever movie you wanted to rent. I've never been in one but apparently they do a pretty good business. Are there any around your area Mel?

Marco’s Pizza, right? Yeah we have that here too, but like you I have also never been in one.

That's a great idea more places should have done in the 80s and 90s. But the problem would be if they didn't have what you wanted. It's easier to be there looking for a substitute.Calavera wrote:It is a chain called Family Video. We still have rental places around here. Video Ezy still have a big one at Karingal Hub (a fairly big mall) and there are some smaller ones around. I haven't been into one for over a decade though.

I think the last one in my area closed in 2012. And it was funny they were constantly robbed in the end because they weren't making much money so it was a waste of time. People went to jail for $30.

We had the local civic video until 2012 or 2013
Blockbuster the next suburb over from me was probably the last still going in the country (can’t confirm it is the last, but it did only close this year)
I actually do miss the video stores.. rent 12 movies, return 6 hours later, then rent some more shortly after.
DVD quality movies without using all of Australia’s download quota. And for a reasonable price.

That's a cool idea. If Dominos or Pizza Hut hooked up with Blockbuster to do that back in the day they'd have made a ton of money due to the convience. They should bring back rental stores, not the same just clicking a button to watch a movie. Back in the day you'd browse, look at the back of the tapes or DVDs and have to make an assumption it would be worth renting or not. Plus VHS tapes had like price tags on them something like £75 to replace themCalavera wrote:There are still video rental stores in my area. It is a chain called Family Video.
